Appointments

Appointments can be made to see the doctor, practice nurse, healthcare assistant, or midwife by contacting reception tel 01706 852238. Some appointments with the GP and practice nurse are available to book online.

Online appointment booking - Not all available appointments are shown over the internet so please contact reception if you wish to book an appointment for a specific day or time that is not offered.

Online appointment booking - Some situations require specific appointment duration / times. For example a practice nurse diabetes clinic check would need a longer appointment time (20 minutes , as opposed to the usual 10 minute appointment slots). Also please note that many blood specimens need to reach the hospital lab the day they are taken as the blood degrades if held overnight. Blood samples are taken to the hospital via NHS lab transport  at around 11am and at around 2pm. We have no later lab collection for samples; for this reason most blood tests need to be taken in a morning appointment slot and can not be taken in late afternoon or evening  appointments. If in doubt about the type of appointment you need please contact our reception staff.

We routinely offer longer 20 minute appointments at the surgery for patients who are over 85 years old - please be sure to ask the recptionist for a 20 minute or a 'double' appointment.

Telephone consultations can be booked via reception. Each doctor on duty has telephone consultations which can be booked at the end of their morning surgeries. For more information click here.

To use the online booking system you will need a password. If you are interested in booking appointments and ordering repeat medication online, please contact reception so that our practice management team can set up your own secure access. For further information about this service , please click here.

If your condition is non-urgent, you can usually to see a GP within two or three working days, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP.

You also have the option to book up to 4 weeks in advance if this is more convenient for you.

Nurses based in our practice treat patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see a nurse within one working day.

Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen. Each individual will need their own appointment.

If you have an urgent medical condition that cannot wait until the next available appointment, our reception staff can arrange an urgent clinical triage assessment by a docotr or nurse so that assessment can be arranged appropriate to your needs, tel 01706 852238.

If there are personal specific circumstances causing problems accessing services please discuss these with the senior reception staff so that, if possible we can accommodate your needs.

Very occasionally we will be closed for a short time during the afternoon for clinical and staff training. Forward notice of this will be posted both here in our News section and via posters in the surgery. Urgent cover will be provided during these training sessions by contacting the usual practice telephone number 01706 852238.

If you are a Carer or are Cared for and need appointments so your Carer can be present, we will try and arrange your appointment at a mutually convenient time whenever possible.
