District Nurses

The District Nursing Team are not a part of our practice and are not based with us but we work closely with their team to serve our patients needs. They are based at the Smallbridge Clinic

The district nursing team supply similar services as Practice nurses to patients who are housebound temporarily or permanently.
District nurses specialise in dressings and in particular care for leg ulcers.
District nurses are often responsible for post operative or post discharge care after a patient is discharged from hospital.
District nurses are often heavily involved in care for terminally ill patients (in conjunction with the Macmillan nurses).
